  • For the elimination of racial discrimination and promotion of equal opportunity in employment.
  • For the elimination of discrimination in pay between men and women who do the same work, or work of a similar nature or work of equal value.

Catalyst equal opportunities statement

  • Catalyst is responsible for ensuring that all delegates who are trained by our personnel at any of our training centres or on the client's site are treated fairly and on an equal basis.

  • Catalyst will ensure avoidance of inequality:

    • In the format and content of all courses, examinations and training materials.
    • Through the monitoring of practices, procedures and data relating to the training provided.
    • In the preparation production and distribution of all training material.
    • By the relaxation of any rules and regulation which serve to inhibit the performance of those delegates with special needs in relation to those not so disadvantaged, provided that such action does not have deleterious effect on the standard, quality and integrity of the training.
  • In formulating and producing its training materials Catalyst seeks to ensure that for its part every reasonable effort is made to avoid a format, language or an approach which, in relation to the candidate's gender, age, racial origin religious persuasion, sexual orientation or disability;
    • May be offensive to members of particular groups.
    • Is not capable of being readily understood by all delegates.
    • Does not have the same meaning for all delegates.
    • Implies stereotyped or biased attitudes.
    • Assumes experiences which not all delegates have had.
    • Describes contexts which are not equally meaningful to all delegates.
    • Includes terms or concepts or forms of presentation which are unfamiliar to some groups of delegates.
    • Employs techniques that are easier for some groups of delegates to use.
    • Requires activities that cannot be performed by all delegates.
  • In furtherance of this policy Catalyst will work in co-operation with any client/organisation to develop means of identifying and preventing unequal opportunity in relation to assessment materials and procedures.
  • Catalyst fully supports the principles of equal opportunities and is committed to satisfying these principles in all activities and in its published material.
